It was the dream of Shaikhuna armiya' kutty musliyar, a distinguished scholar, Sufi, jurist (Faqih), Qari, and one of the founding members of the Samastha Kerala Jameyathul Ulama and it's Mushawara, to establish an institution that prioritized Qiraa’th and Thajweed. To fulfill this dream, he entrusted his disciple, Usthad Abdur Razzaq Furqani, and embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage. However, he passed away in Makkah on the night of Arafat.
The structured institution of Al Markazul Farooqi was established in 2000 under the guidance and blessings of the prominent Sufi and spiritual guide, Shaikhuna Kavannoor Muhyiddin Kutti Musliyar, with a greater emphasis on Thajweed and Qira’ath."

To fulfill the dream of Shaikhuna Armiya’ Musliyar, his disciple Usthad Abdur Razzaq Furqani began teaching Thajweed classes for the first time at his own house in Kuttichira, Kozhikode, in 1983. This initiative aimed to revive the knowledge of Thajweed, which was fading away. Since 1998, he has systematically developed the institution and erected another building in 2000 to meet the growing demands and further his mission
Since 1983, more than 200 scholars from around seven districts of Malabar have consistently attended Usthad's Thajweed classes. Usthad's renowned ‘Saba’ Qira'a’ class, which starts after Isha prayers and extends until dawn, is highly acclaimed. Currently, over 1000 scholars have completed various courses under Usthad's guidance and are actively contributing in various capacities. Approximately ten works by the Ustad have been published exclusively in Tajweed and Qira'at. Al Markazul Farooqi's ongoing educational endeavours are focused on perpetuating Usthad's legacy and keeping the flame of knowledge burning brightly into the future.
